Organic Valley to launch American cheese slices
The line will be available in May in yellow and white varieties.
Organic Valley, La Farge, Wis., will introduce Organic Valley American cheese slices this May. The cheese slices deliver all the melt and flavor consumers want, with ingredients that include organic butter and organic cheddar, the cooperative said.
The organic American cheese slices are made with just seven ingredients, including butter produced from milk from pasture-raised cows. Organic Valley said the combination of butter and organic cheddar creates a meltier cheese with a mom-approved clean ingredient list. The line’s varieties include yellow and white cheese.
“American cheese is a classic that provides that unique ooey-gooey melt no other cheese can match, but it’s lost ground as consumers seek out products with cleaner and shorter ingredients lists,” said Kelly Slentz, cheese brand manager for Organic Valley. “We are excited to bring to market a delicious clean-label American cheese that will help grow the cheese category.”
Organic Valley said the American cheese slices will have a suggested retail price of $6.49-$6.99 for a 6-ounce package of eight slices.
