Wallaby launches organic nonfat Greek yogurt

    By Sarah M. Kennedy
    February 25, 2013

Wallaby Greek NF Yogurt Mixed BerryWallaby Yogurt Co., American Canyon, Calif., is extending its line of Greek yogurt to include new organic nonfat Greek yogurt.

Wallaby Greek NF Yogurt LemonAfter having success with its launch of a low-fat Greek yogurt line last year, the company is looking to capture an even larger share of the Greek yogurt market with this new nonfat variety.

According to Kathy Housman, national sales manager for Wallaby, nonfat yogurts represent the largest segment of competitors’ Greek yogurt sales in the Natural Channel.

All Wallaby yogurts are made without the use of starches or other artificial thickeners. The company uses the authentic straining process to make all of its organic Greek yogurts. It also uses its traditional slow-cooking method that Wallaby is known for.

The yogurts come in a variety of flavors and sizes. Its 5.3-ounce flavored varieties feature a two-compartment cup, allowing consumers to control the amount of flavor they get with each spoonful. Flavor pairings include lemon, mixed berries, peach and raspberry, with a suggested retail price of $1.99. The traditional plain yogurt is offered in 6- 16 - and 32-ounce sizes, for suggested retail price of $1.99, $3.99 and $6.99, respectively.

The line is now available nationwide in Whole Foods Markets.

The low-fat Greek yogurt line is available in similar sizes and prices, with blueberry, cherry, honey, and strawberry flavor pairings, and plain yogurt.
