The ninth annual National Dairy Council (NDC) New Product Competition is seeking the next innovative dairy product from college students across the United States and Canada.

USDA said the Center for Dairy Research (CDR) and Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA), both based in Madison, Wis., were chosen to host a regional Dairy Business Innovation Initiative, serving Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota and Illinois.

Can a piece of toast be a bagel? Can a waffle be a bagel? With its new “Bagel That” tool, the Philadelphia brand of Chicago- and Philadelphia-based Kraft Heinz Co. said they can.

Dairy Council of California, a quasi-state government nutrition education organization committed to elevating the health and wellness of children and families, said its fourth grade Nutrition Pathfinders program was accepted as a Research-Tested Intervention Program by the National Cancer Institute.

The U.S. Dairy Export Council and the National Milk Producers Federation said they joined other agriculture groups and members of Congress from both sides of the aisle at a rally to tout the trade benefits of USMCA.

According to the New York-based association, this year’s entries showed that retailers are increasingly relying on innovations in store brand products and packaging to attract and retain shoppers.

The awards are part of the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy’s commitment to ensure a socially responsible and ever-improving dairy community.
