Fair Trade USA, Oakland, Calif., and Norwich, N.Y.-based Chobani LLC announced the launch of a groundbreaking certification program for U.S. dairy farms and cooperatives.
The 2021 contest will include 93 different dairy product categories.

On May 5, Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly and Hilmar Cheese Company Inc. jointly announced the Hilmar Cheese Company’s decision to build a new state-of-the-art cheese and whey protein processing plant in Dodge City, Kan.
The past year has been a rollercoaster ride for the cheese category. While the COVID-19 pandemic drastically reduced demand for cheese in foodservice, the category's growth at retail was extensive, notes Kelly Slentz, associate brand manager, cheese for La Farge, Wis.-based Organic Valley.
The award celebrates dairy ingredient achievements and innovations by dairy processing members of ADPI.

Dairy Foods magazine and the American Dairy Products Institute (ADPI), Elmhurst, Ill., have extended the entry deadline for the 2021 Breakthrough Award for Dairy Ingredient Innovation program to May 14.
The awards will be part of Oviedo’s International Cheese Festival.
