As a step toward its carbon positive by 2025 goal, Horizon Organic said it published an executive summary of its life cycle assessment (LCA) on Horizon Organic whole-milk half gallons, providing a look at the brand's carbon footprint and the next steps the brand will take to reduce emissions.
The offerings include ice cream cookie sandwiches, fruit and cream bars and layered sundae cups.

Conestoga, Pa.-based Turkey Hill Dairy says it introduced three lines to its frozen novelty portfolio, including ice cream cookie sandwiches, fruit and cream bars, and layered sundae cups.
Seven companies will participate in the 90-day dairy-intensive program.

A single-serve snack-sized cheese bar, facial recognition software for cows and nanotechnologies to help treat mastitis are just a few of the startup companies that are convening virtually this week as Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) launches its 2021 DFA CoLab Accelerator class.
The cooperative’s scholarship committee identified 44 students, who will receive a total of $63,000.

Cultured dairy products, dairy products fermented with lactic acid bacteria, have been around for absolutely ages. The COVID-19 pandemic and a bit of innovation on the part of dairy processors, however, have combined to build consumer demand in a number of cultured dairy segments during the past year or so.
The introductions include Old Amsterdam Mild and Old Amsterdam Reserve.

Old Amsterdam Cheese, a brand of Westland Cheese Company, Huizen, Netherlands, said it debuted two new flavors: Old Amsterdam Mild and Old Amsterdam Reserve.
York, Pa., can trace its beginnings back to 1741, when settlers from the Philadelphia region founded the city. And Rutter's Dairy, which is based in this area, has an origin story that goes back almost as far.
The $3,500 scholarship was created in late 2020 by the FPSA Dairy Council and is named in memory of founding council member and former publisher of Dairy Foods magazine, Tom Imbordino.

The Food Processing Suppliers Association (FPSA) said it opened the application period for the inaugural Tom Imbordino Memorial Dairy Science Scholarship to deserving students studying dairy or food sciences at universities throughout North America.
Developed with pediatricians, the line now includes yogurt pouches, cultured dairy smoothies and new milk varieties.
