Black Tap Burgers & Beer debuts three new sundaes in advance of National Ice Cream Day

It is difficult to find anything more decadent and enjoyable than an ice cream sundae. Black Tap Burgers & Beer on July 16 celebrated the upcoming National Ice Cream Day with the official release of three new sundaes during a three-hour launch event at its Midtown New York City location.
First up was Churro Hot Fudge — which we tried — featuring vanilla ice cream, Mexican hot fudge, dulce de leche, crushed Cinnamon Toast Crunch, churros, cinnamon sugar cookies, whipped cream and a cherry. The second offering was Cherry Bomb, featuring vanilla ice cream, cherry pie, sour cherry sauce, crunchy pie crumble, topped with whipped cream and cherries. Last, but definitely not least, was Strawberry Glazed, featuring vanilla ice cream, strawberry sauce, strawberry cake crumbs, topped with a glazed doughnut, fresh strawberries and whipped cream.
When coming up with the ideas for the three new sundaes, Chef Stephen Parker looked at several different ideas. “We really wanted to have fun,” he stated. “For example, for the Churro flavor, a lot of people love cinnamon. We wanted to create something people would enjoy eating and also share memorable experiences.”
Added Julie Mulligan, who founded Black Tap Burgers & Beer 11 years ago, and which now operates more than 20 locations nationwide: “It is our Crazy Sundae World Tour. These sundaes are now officially on the menu, as well as a wide variety of burger offerings and more.”
Mulligan added the ice cream used in its sundaes are always sourced from local dairies to ensure freshness. “We also make sure to limit the number of ingredients we include in our products to ensure a great customer experience.”
