Kovalus opens Germany Technology Centre, bolstering membrane filtration solution development and implementation
Kovalus Technology Centre features a laboratory performing separation tests ranging from membrane screening to full process trials, supported by a broad range of advanced analytical tools.

In June 2025, Kovalus Separation Solutions, a global provider of advanced separation technologies, opened a Technology Centre in Aachen, Germany, designed to play a central role in process development and implementation of customized membrane filtration solutions for the company's European customers.
At the Kovalus Technology Centre (KTC), a team of experienced process engineers with decades of expertise in membrane filtration will support customers from early project phases. Through targeted membrane screenings and validation of individual process concepts, the team delivers process data that allows for a joint evaluation of technical and economic feasibility. Based on this foundation, tailor-made separation solutions are developed to meet specific customer requirements precisely.
The heart of the KTC is a laboratory performing separation tests ranging from membrane screening to full process trials, supported by a broad range of advanced analytical tools. In addition, the KTC houses Kovalus's European pilot plant fleet – comprising more than 20 specialized systems that can be flexibly deployed in the next phase of process development and operated directly at customer sites.
Martin Awe, Kovalus general manager Europe and Africa, said, “The KTC allows us to support our customers best in the early stages of new or complex processes by bringing together detailed data analysis, comprehensive process expertise, and decades of practical experience at a single spot, called KTC.
Since 1963, Kovalus has been developing sustainable and efficient filtration solutions. With the rebrand from Koch to Kovalus and our new ownership, we can now respond to market needs with even greater agility. The new KTC shall be the centre of real innovation and collaborative partnership, supporting our customers to develop and implement more sustainable and value-generating production processes.”
The KTC will also serve as a platform for knowledge exchange. Workshops and training sessions for partners and professionals from Europe and Africa are planned, with a thematic focus on membrane filtration applications – especially in food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and industrial and municipal water and wastewater treatment.
