SCREENING FOR MICROBIAL CONTAMINANTS

Hygiena’s Innovate System offers rapid microbiological screening to detect microbial contaminants in finished products. Superior to pH monitoring or microbiological plating, the Innovate System, when used with the RapiScreen Dairy or RapiScreen Beverage Kits, detects the presence of contaminants in dairy, dairy-alternative and low pH beverages (e.g., fruit juices) after just 24-48 hours of incubation post-production, the company says. This reduces labor costs and minimizes warehouse space. The system can detect and quantitate microorganism levels within 30 minutes of testing, analyzing up to 96 individual samples simultaneously. The platform can be automated for high-volume testing using the Autosampler III for product sampling, the company says.
