The Wisconsin Dairy Products Association (WDPA), Middleton, Wis., said its 2020 Dairy Symposium is being modified due to COVID-19’s lingering grip on the country. Rather than the traditional two-day convention format, this year’s event will be retooled to encompass increased health protocols and provide more peace of mind for the attendees.

The event is being renamed “The WDPA Fall Celebration.” On Sunday, Oct. 4, guests will gather at The Landmark Resort for a celebration reception. The two-hour reception will be held outdoors at the resort to provide maximum space and social distancing. Even though Door County has certain COVID-19 restrictions in place for public gatherings, WDPA said it will be taking extensive measures to ensure our guests’ health and safety.

The resort’s staff will serve the food at the reception to alleviate concerns over communal touching of service utensils. WDPA said it will be adhering to enhanced COVID-19 guidelines, which include complete sanitation of each guest sleeping room prior to arrival, multiple hand sanitizing locations and the option to wear face masks, if desired. The reception grounds and facilities will be reserved exclusively for event attendees.

A golf outing will take place at The Orchards Golf Course on Monday, Oct. 5, WDPA said. Once the outing is over in mid-afternoon, guests may either drive home or stay another night at The Landmark Resort.
