Cedar Crest Ice Cream debuts frozen custard line

The pint line features six flavors, including caramel cone and strawberry cheesecake.

    June 1, 2018

Cedarburg, Wis,-based Cedar Crest Ice Cream launched a frozen custard line in pint containers.

The frozen custard is available in six flavors: butter pecan, caramel cone, mint Mackinac Island fudge, #LUV peanut butter, strawberry cheesecake and vanilla. The caramel cone flavor contains 280 calories, 14 grams of fat, 28 grams of sugar and 5 grams of protein per 2/3 cup serving.

The company said the line was inspired in part by ongoing consumer requests for frozen custard at local grocery stores. Although similar to ice cream, custard contains more cream, along with egg yolk and butterfat, giving it a smoother texture and richer taste, the company said.

Cedar Crest frozen custard is available at retail stores throughout Wisconsin, northern Illinois and the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. The suggested retail price is $3.99 per pint.
