Talenti Gelato & Sorbetto releases reduced-sugar gelato line

Talenti Gelato & Sorbetto, Minneapolis, released a Crafted with Less Sugar gelato line that has half the sugar of — and less fat than — regular ice cream, according to the company. The gelato is made with natural sweeteners monk fruit and erythritol (sugar alcohol). The three reduced-sugar gelato flavors are vanilla cinnamon, mint cookie crunch and chocolate fudge swirl. A 1/2-cup serving of the chocolate fudge swirl flavor contains 120 calories, 6 grams of fat, 9 grams of sugar, 6 grams of sugar alcohol and 4 grams of protein. The six flavors are available in grocery stores nationwide for a suggested retail price of $4.99-$5.99 per pint. The company also added three flavors to its classic lineup, including chocolate caramel blondie gelato and almond butter and honey gelato.
