GEA Westfalia Separator Group, Germany, showcased a series of new equipment for dairy processors at Anuga FoodTec. The international trade fair for food and drink technology took place March 24 through 27 in Cologne, Germany.

GEA’s hygienic decanter technology for the dairy industry
The GEA ecoforce decanter series can be used in a wide range of areas in the dairy industry. This includes the production of processed cheese base, raw goods for curd cheese bars or bakers cheese. The decanters are also ideally suited for reprocessing cheese fines and for lactose and casein production because the design has been optimized for the production of delicate foods. The series can also be used for processing coffee and tea, as well as a wide variety of juices.

Casein production with GEA decanters
The main components of the casein process are the dairy decanters from the GEA ecoforce series, which are designed to separate the casein from the whey and/or from the so-called washing water. The GEA decanters comply in full with the hygienic design requirements.

GEA presents the milk bacteria-removing separator CSI 500
With the CSI 500 separator, GEA created a milk bacteria-removing separator for capacities of up to 60,000 l/h. The machine features an efficient space- and energy-saving integrated direct dive. The machine can be used in a wide range of dairy applications, including cheese and milk powder, according to the company.

GEA introduces innovative solution for small- and medium-sized dairy companies
GEA's dairysmart is designed for small- and medium-sized dairies as well as cheese factories that do not want to invest in extensive machinery but want to offer a broad range of products. It comprises the ecocream skimming separator for milk and whey in conjunction with a production kit for smart, flexible product processing and the new IO control system from GEA.

GEA process solutions for concentrated, fermented dairy products
GEA centrifuges can be used to produce Greek yogurt, thermo quark and cream cheese. The centrifuges offer:

  • Constant flow rate
  • Constant product characteristics (e.g. with respect to consistency)
  • Option of direct filling after concentration
  • Easy integration into existing process equipment
  • Quick and easy adaptation of the dry product matter
  • Option of integration into an existing CIP line

The separator KNA 3 has been designed specifically for small dairies. It is also offered as a plug-and-play version on a skid. It combines machines and process management in one space-saving and easy-to-use solution.
