A new ice cream product joined the national market — Figo! Organic Gelato, produced by Boulder Ice Cream, Boulder, Colo., is an authentic batch-crafted Italian gelato.
The gelato is the only GMO-free, USDA-Certified Organic gelato on the national market according to the company. It’s also gluten-free, egg-free, and hormone-free and made with no corn syrup artificial ingredients or colors. The packaging is also BPA-free.
The gelato is available in seven flavors— Vanilla Trio, Cool Limone, Salted Caramel Café, Pure Pistachio, Coconut Almond Chip, Chocolate Duet and Chocolate Peanut Butter.
Figo!, which means “cool” in Italian, uses a slow-churn process to create a smooth, creamy and rich texture that contains just 6% butterfat, half the fat of most ice cream.
The organic gelato is available on shelves in Wegmans, King Soopers and Whole Foods Market stores in select regions at a suggested retail price of $4.99 per pint, and will soon be available in independent specialty and natural stores in Northern California.
