Chobani announces a load of innovative new flavors

    By Sarah M. Kennedy
    June 25, 2013

Chobani Flip Peachy PistachioChobani, Norwich, N.Y., continues to be innovative in the yogurt aisle with the launch of a variety of new flavors in July. The flavors were developed based on a combination of fan requests and an exploration of new exotic ingredients. New dairy products and flavors are appearing across the portfolio, including 6-ounce cups, Chobani Flip, Chobani Bite and Chobani Champions’ Tubes and Cups.

For Chobani Flip, a Greek yogurt that features a side compartment with mix-ins, there are four new flavors:

    • Blueberry Power – Blueberry nonfat Greek Yogurt with chia seeds, hemp seeds and walnuts (a combination inspired by Chobani Founder and CEO Hamdi Ulukaya’s daily breakfast).
    • Nutty for Nana – Banana low-fat Greek Yogurt with honey roasted salted almonds and dark chocolate.
    • Peachy Pistachio – Peach low-fat Greek Yogurt with pistachio and dark chocolate.
    • Tropical Escape – Pineapple coconut low-fat Greek Yogurt with toasted coconut, hazelnut and granola.

Chobani Bite Dark Choc MintThe new flavors are inspired directly from unique yogurt creations served at Chobani SoHo, the brand’s retail store in New York. The yogurt is sold for a suggested retail price of $1.49 per 5.3-ounce cup.

With Chobani Bite the two new flavors are — Honey with Ginger and Mint with Dark Chocolate Chips. Each 3.5-ounce cup contains 100 calories and eight grams of protein. It’s sold for a suggested retail price of $2.99 per 4-pack.

In the Champions line, the company is introducing three new products, including the new Tube flavor — Flyin’ Dragon Fruit. The exotic fruit from the cactus family and tastes like a blend of kiwi, pear, watermelon and mango with a tropical twist. In addition, two popular Tube flavors, blueberry and strawberry, are now available in 3.5 oz. cups for a suggested retail price of $2.99 per 4-pack.

Chobani Coconut 6ozFans inspired the newest additions to the signature 6-ounce cups of Greek yogurt. The new flavors for the fruit-on-the-bottom are low-fat Apricot and nonfat Blackberry. In the blended, the new flavors are low-fat Coconut, low-fat Key Lime and low-fat Orange Vanilla. The 6-ounce cups are sold for a suggested retail price of $1.29.

Also new in July, Chobani will introduce multi-packs. The 6-ounce 4-packs are available in blended coconut, Key Lime, orange vanilla, raspberry, strawberry banana and vanilla, as well as fruit-on-the-bottom black cherry, blueberry, blackberry, peach, strawberry and pineapple. Those are sold for a suggested retail price of $4.49 per 4-pack. Chobani will also launch 8-packs of smaller 3.5-ounce cups, featuring black cherry, blueberry, blackberry, peach, pineapple and strawberry for a suggested retail price of $3.39 per 8-pack.
