Cheese, butter and cream are among the ingredients called for in holiday recipes from in free-standing inserts by major consumer packaged goods companies, including Saputo Cheese (Frigo) and Bongrain (Aloutette).

A "Sunrise Breakfast Casserole" recipe calls for two cups of shredded cheddar cheese and three cups of milk in an FSI featuring H.J. Heinz Co.'s Ore-Ida hash browns and sausage links from Johnsonville Sausage LLC. Target offers coupons toward the purchase of the potatoes and sausages.

ACH Food Cos. publishes two baked goods recipes calling for butter (or margarine). "Caramel Pecan Turtle Bars" uses two tablespoons of butter and two tablespoons of heavy cream. "Amazin Nut 'N Plum Stottie Cakes" uses one-quarter-cup of butter.

The FSI also announces the online sweeps "Recipe For Togetherness," which offers a grand prize $2,500 gift card and 12 weekly prizes consisting of an e-reader and case, and a $25 gift card. Entry is via a website or the a Facebook page.

Saputo Cheese features its Frigo brand cheeses and directs readers to its website for recipes, including "Three Cheese Manicotti Florentine."

Bongrain's Alouette Cheese promotes its new spreadable Bacon Cheddar and Sharp Cheddar products. The FSI ties in to the upcoming film "The Adventures of Tintin," first reported in the Nov. 21 report.
