Caloris Engineering marks 20 years serving dairy processors
Company has expanded from custom evaporation equipment into filtration, spray drying, wastewater processing and stainless-stell fabrication.

Caloris Engineering, a provider of process equipment and related services, marked the 20th anniversary of its founding July 1, 2026.
Caloris was co-founded by Art and Linda Zimmer, Daniel Neth and Charles "Barry" McFarland in Easton, Md., as a provider of custom evaporation equipment, mainly to dairy and juice processors. Caloris now offers filtration, evaporation and spray drying solutions to food, dairy and beverage processors, and many other industries. The company's equipment is used to process industrial wastewater as well. Caloris also offers optimization, rebuild, capacity expansion and retrofit services for its core types of process equipment, regardless of manufacturer.
"Twenty years ago, we set out to help processors get more out of their equipment — more efficiency, more yield, more uptime," said Caloris President Jim Peterson. "Our customers have trusted us with some of their most critical production challenges, and that trust is something we've never taken for granted."
Caloris has always had a focus on sustainability, efficiency and operability for its equipment design. The company's engineers have developed a reputation for problem-solving and first-class service.
The company has grown many times over in terms of size and the types of equipment and services offered. Notable process industries served today include infant formula, whey and plant proteins. Caloris continues to develop high-quality process solutions for additional industries.
Over its history, Caloris has expanded the breadth of its products and services. It acquired Seitz Stainless (Avon, Minn.) in 2019, adding sanitary stainless-steel fabrication expertise. The combined entity has more than 60 employees.
"The next 20 years will continue to bring change to dairy and food processing," Peterson said. "That's exactly where we want to be: right alongside our customers as they optimize, expand, and modernize their operations. We've spent two decades building the expertise to do that well."
