Van Leeuwen and Guinness are bringing “Lovely Day for a Guinness” ice cream to Whole Foods Market stores nationwide beginning this month.
What began as a limited-edition scoop shop collaboration has proven clear national demand, earning its place in premium grocery and expanding Guinness’ footprint in the U.S. beyond the beverage aisle.
The collaboration reinforces Van Leeuwen’s position as a leader in culturally relevant flavor innovation - bringing together high-quality ingredients with unexpected, buzzworthy partnerships. Van Leeuwen is known nationally for out-of-the-box limited-edition collaboration flavors such as Hidden Valley Ranch, Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, BIGFACE Coffee Affogato in partnership with NBA All-Star Jimmy Butler and Espresso ice cream in partnership with singer/songwriter Sabrina Carpenter.

The ultra-creamy French-style ice cream infuses the unforgettable flavor of Guinness stout – roasted barley and a smooth, balanced finish – paired with rich chocolate chunks. The flavor is packaged in a custom pint-inspired carton that is instantly recognizable and unmistakably Guinness.
Inspired by the iconic 1950s “Lovely Day for a Guinness” ads, the collaboration bridges brand heritage with modern cultural relevance - reimagining how consumers experience Guinness today.
