Norwich, N.Y.-based Chobani LLC announced a major expansion in the kids' yogurt aisle with the launch of Chobani Gimmies, a line of Greek yogurt products. Starting in December, Chobani will be rolling out 13 flavors under the Gimmies platform nationwide. The platform has four formats: crunch, which is similar to the Flip format; yogurt milkshake drinks, pouches and tubes.

Like all other Chobani products, Gimmies are made with natural non-GMO ingredients, and never any thickeners, preservatives or artificial sweeteners, the company said.
The Gimmies flavors are:

  • Crunch: Poppin' Cotton Candy, Choco Chunk Cookie Dunk, Best Birthday Ever, Ooey Gooey S'More and Rainbow Sprinkle Cone
  • Milkshakes: Bizzy Buzzy Strawberry, Cookies & Cream Crush and Chillin' Mint Chocolate
  • Tubes: Super Berry Rocket, Creamy Orange Dreamy and Cherry Set Go
  • Pouches: See Ya Later Strawberry and Bunch of Bouncy Grape

Gimmies tubes have 25% less sugar than — and two times the protein of — leading kids' yogurt tubes, Chobani said. They have 4 grams of sugar and 3 grams of protein per 1.5-ounce serving.

Gimmies milkshakes have 8 grams of sugar and 6 grams of protein per 4-ounce serving. In contrast, the leading kids’ drinkable yogurt has 12 grams of sugar and 3 grams of protein per the same-size serving. And Gimmies crunch has 8 grams of protein per 4-ounce serving, compared to 4 grams of protein per the same-size serving from the leading kids' yogurt with mix-ins, the company said.

Gimmies pouches have 10 grams of sugar and 8 grams of protein per 3.5-ounce serving.

The suggested retail prices are $1.25 per 4-ounce container of Gimmies crunch, $4.29 for a 10-pack of 1.5-ounce Gimmies tubes, $4.49 for a six-pack of 4-ounce milkshakes, and $4.49 for a four-pack of 3.5-ounce pouches.
