WhiteWave Foods, Broomfield, Colo., will be discontinuing Yulu, its Australian-style yogurt brand, at the end of this year.

The yogurt, which was released earlier this year and was inspired by an authentic Australian recipe, did not sell as quickly as the company hoped, resulting in the decision to discontinue.

For the next two months, Yulu will be available on a limited basis, largely concentrated in Colorado and the Midwest. In these markets, it can be found at Kroger, Meijer and Sprouts stores. The product will be fully discontinued at the end of 2015, said the company.

The yogurt is created through a process that the company called “double smoothed” to create an extra creamy texture. It is sold in a 5.3-ounce container for a suggested retail price of $1.69 and features five flavors, including honey and vanilla bean.

Yulu, which currently has over 17,000 likes on its Facebook page, shared the news via its page in November. The news was met with several disappointed comments.

Dairy Foods' editors, also fans of the yogurt, chose the dairy product as one of  the 10 top new dairy products for 2015, and included it in our annual Best New Dairy Products Poll of 2015. More information on that here: Best New Dairy Products of 2015
