Dairy processor news briefs: Westby reports record sales, plus more news
Westby Cooperative Creamery, Westby, Wis., said it had record revenues of more than $50 million in 2012. General Manager Pete Kondrup said total revenues from operations were more than $30 million in manufactured dairy food products and nearly $20 million in fluid milk sales.

The United Nations Foundation named Lifeway Foods CEOJulie Smolyanskya member of its Global Entrepreneurs Council.
The Secretary of the California Department of Food and Agriculture Karen Ross named Randall Dei of Safeway, Bellevue, Wash., to a two-year term as chairman of Dairy Council of California’s board of directors. Dei is Safeway’s director of U.S. ice cream/industry relations. Crystal Creamery President and CEO Frank Otisfrom Modesto, and producers Arlene Vander Eykof Pixley and Gregory “Butch” Diasof Visalia also were appointed to the board.
