Hydrite Chemical Co. purchased Choice Chemical Inc. in Visalia, California. The acquisition, finalized on July 15, 2011, will bring together two respected names in the chemical industry to benefit both companies' customers. The new prime location in north central California expands the geographical reach so that customers can be better served. It will also allow them to expand their product offerings in the dairy, food and beverage industries. By combining resources, Hydrite Chemical Co. will lead the industry into innovative products and better their logistics.

Danisco received Nutrition Business Journal's Scientific Achievement Award at the 14th Annual NBJ Summit held in Dana Point, Calif. NBJ granted the award for Danisco's commitment to developing probiotics based on sound science. Scott Bush, vice president of marketing for Danisco Health and Nutrition, accepted the award on the company's behalf.
