Burkert

Burkert's 3A-certified Type 2031 High-Purity Diaphragm Valve incorporating a forged 316L stainless steel body, this bi-directional valve accommodates food-grade and sterile fluids. A chemically neutral EPDM or PTFE diaphragm hermetically isolates fluid from the valve's PPS or PA pneumatic actuator (PPS is used for steam or caustic wash-down areas). Pneumatic pilot valves (single pilot valves, valve islands and control heads) can control the actuator. Available in sizes from 1⁄4-inch through 4-inches, the self-draining Type 2031 offers an electropolish option and various surface finishes (32 RA to 4 RA/150G to 400G).

The valve features a medium temperature range of 14°F to 320°F. The Type 2031 shuts off against 150 psi line pressure and has a pilot pressure range of 80 psi to 100 psi. Valve connection types include tube weld-end and Triclamp-type ends, plus various metric connections if required. Other configurations include control versions, GMP, Access, Tandem, ZST/ZDL, POU and diverter valves.

Fristam Pumps

Fristam's new FPR centrifugal pump line is designed to save processors time and money through easy maintenance and reduced inventory. Built with a front pull-out seal, FPR pumps are quickly serviced as they do not need to be pulled out of line for seal changes. Additionally, no special tools are required for service. The new FPR series was also designed to reduce maintenance inventory. Two seal sizes fit the entire line and FPR pumps have fewer parts, allowing processors to stock fewer maintenance parts.

The stainless steel FPR is CIP cleanable and meets the most stringent sanitary standards. An optional stainless steel flange provides improved corrosion resistance.

SKF USA Inc.

The new universal power frame cartridge available from SKF provides an "ultimate pump upgrade" designed to virtually eliminate premature bearing and mechanical seal failures caused by heat, vibration, misalignment, and cavitation. This unique modular "bolt-on" replacement for existing power frames can install and operate in pumps trouble-free, regardless of industry application. The cartridge meets ANSI and API pump specifications and can be bolted easily into place without modifying pump, piping, or foundation. The cartridge can be readily converted from standard power frame to hermetically sealed unit to contain process fluids in the power frame, minimizing costs of leak detection and repair. An optional C-frame adapter supports motors up to 200hp. These can be aligned quickly and precisely with the power frame shaft without requiring hot and cold shaft alignments. The robustness of this arrangement allows pumps to be stilt-mounted, eliminating a need for baseplates, simplifying clean-in-place activities, and improving sanitary conditions.

Südmo North America

Südmo now offers one of the few approved non-slamming Flow Diversion Valves used on HTST pasteurization systems. This key, non-slamming feature allows for smooth operation without the damaging, and loud, hydraulic shock and water hammer experienced during the normal cut-in/cut-out flow cycles. In addition, the Flow Diversion Valve carries the 3A symbol and the memorandum M-b-347 for meeting the latest criteria from the FDA. Südmo's Flow Diversion Valve design simplifies the stem detection procedure during regulatory inspections. Like all Südmo valves, the Flow Diversion Valve has a 10-year warranty on its actuator, utilizes simple "o" rings for seat seals, has a one-piece machined body for strength, and is easy to maintain.

Viking Pump

Viking Pump has introduced the new SteriLobe" pump series, which sets a new standard in hygienic PD pumps for food, beverage and biopharm applications, with its exceptionally clean design and ease of maintenance. The pump conforms to relevant EHEDG and 3A standards, and in the critical area of the mechanical seal, exceeds those design criteria to make the SteriLobe one of the cleanest standard-construction pumps available. The pump's front-loading seal access makes seal removal easy, even for flushed and double-seal options, without removing the pump. The removable rotorcase and optional O-ring seal are ideal for COP (strip-clean) operations. The stainless steel gear case, with no breather plug or sight glass, ensures cleanliness and corrosion resistance, and prevents water spray infiltration.
