Rockin' Refuel Lean Builder, a high-protein milk from Phoenix, Ariz.-based milk processor Shamrock Farms, received the most votes in Dairy Foods' 2013 Best New Dairy Products poll. The milk was one of 25 dairy foods and beverages nominated by the editorial staff of Dairy Foods. 

Visitors to dairyfoods.com liked to read about new dairy products. Those were among the most-viewed articles on the website in 2013.  Minneapolis-based Talenti Gelato & Sorbetto created its first-ever Gelato Pops, available in eight flavors, including Banana Swirl, Double Dark Chocolate, Mediterranean Mint and Sea Salt Caramel. 

Processors combine tropical fruit flavors in ice cream and fruit bars. They look to the bakery aisle for inspiration and develop “dessert within a dessert” creations like red velvet cake and S’mores ice cream.

 Skinny Cow, a brand of Nestlé, Oakland, Calif., released two limited-edition flavors in its cup line. 

Though the family name is one and the same, Yuengling’s Ice Cream, Orwigsburg, Pa., is unaffiliated with the Yuengling (pronounced "ying-ling") brewery. A branch of the Yuengling family will re-launch the ice cream next year. The ice cream is expected to be in grocery stores by March 2014.
