Land O'Lakes donates 40K pounds of mac and cheese to Second Harvest Heartland

Land O’Lakes Inc. donated nearly 40,000 pounds of LAND O LAKES Macaroni & Cheese to Second Harvest Heartland through the Land O’Lakes First Run Program.
The donation fulfills a pledge made by Land O’Lakes to donate one ton of food to Second Harvest Heartland for every point scored by the Minnesota Vikings during their game against the Green Bay Packers on Jan. 4.
The First Run Program has donated over 7.6 million pounds of product since it was established in 2010. The program is committed to donating truckloads of fresh product year-round, made specifically for Feeding America food banks to help alleviate hunger across the United States. In 2025, Land O’Lakes provided 9 million meals to communities through the Feeding America network across First Run and additional hunger programs.
"As a farmer-owned cooperative, Land O'Lakes, Inc is deeply committed to hunger relief. This effort begins locally in the communities that our members and employees call home, many of them rural." said Sheilah Stewart, senior vice president and general counsel, Land O’Lakes, Inc. "We are honored to help our Feeding America food bank partners get fresh, nutritious food directly to the families who need it most."
"At Second Harvest Heartland, we believe when it comes to fighting hunger, we’re all in this together,” said Sarah Moberg, CEO of Second Harvest Heartland. “At a time when many of our neighbors are turning to the hunger relief network for support, having partners like Land O’Lakes and the Minnesota Vikings come together in such a meaningful way helps us shed more light on hunger and get more food to Minnesotans who need it."
"The Minnesota Vikings are proud to support efforts that turn moments on the field into meaningful impact in our communities. Through partnerships like this, we’re able to help raise awareness on food insecurity and support organizations like Second Harvest Heartland and Land O’Lakes that are making a real difference for families throughout Minnesota.” said Brett Taber, vice president of Social Impact with the Minnesota Vikings. “Addressing hunger in our community takes all of us."
In addition to the donation, 50 employees from Land O’Lakes and the Vikings front office came together to volunteer at Second Harvest to assist with sorting, labeling, weighing and packing various food items to meet the immediate needs of our community.
