The donation fulfills a pledge made by Land O’Lakes to donate one ton of food to Second Harvest Heartland for every point scored by the Minnesota Vikings during their game against the Green Bay Packers on Jan. 4.
The snacks will be distributed through food banks and other non-profit partners, including City Harvest and Children's Aid in New York, Midwest Food Bank in Illinois, The Idaho Food Bank, Feeding America in Wisconsin, Food Rescue in Traverse City, and Feeding Brookings in South Dakota, with distribution beginning Nov. 12.
Along with more than a dozen U.S. dairy companies and food retailers teamed up today to deliver 3.5 truckloads of nutritious milk and dairy products and donate nearly $40,000 to the San Antonio Food Bank to address hunger in Southwest Texas.
IDFA Foundation teamed with retailers and processors to donate more than 33,000 pounds of nutritious milk and dairy foods as well as $15,000 in financial contributions.

Cargill, Wayzata, Minn., said it is joining forces with dairy farmer Tara Vander Dussen, also known as “New Mexico Milkmaid,” to get more milk to families in need.
