Checkoff-initiated smoothie program expands to 4,500 schools
Dairy Management Inc., Chartwells K12 and General Mills partner to increase milk and yogurt consumption.
Following a successful checkoff pilot, Dairy Management Inc. (DMI) reports that the results of the checkoff checkoff-initiated smoothie program pilot showed increased consumption of milk and yogurt. As a result, the program will be offered in more schools this fall, the Rosemont, Il.-based company says.
In 2022, DMI pitched the smoothie program concept to Chartwells K12, a food management company that serves more than 2 million meals in 4,500 schools representing 665 districts across the U.S. every day.
