The Wisconsin Dairy Products Association (WDPA), Middleton, Wis., said its 2020 Dairy Symposium is scheduled to take place Oct. 5-6 at The Landmark Resort, Egg Harbor, Wis., in Door County.

The Dairy Symposium is a complete and comprehensive program focusing on issues impacting all dairy processors. The two-day program will include exceptional program speakers, entertaining social events, a golf outing and the opportunity to network with leading dairy executives in an upscale, resort setting, WDPA said.

A partial listing of confirmed speakers includes:

  • Trevor Farrell, senior vice president, Schreiber Foods.

  • Cary Frye, retired senior vice president, International Dairy Foods Association
  • Byron Franz, special agent, FBI.

The Dairy Symposium will kick off on Oct. 5 with a golf outing at The Orchards Golf Club at Egg Harbor. The outing will have a scramble format to allow golfers of all abilities to have an enjoyable day. A shotgun start will begin at 10:00 a.m., and lunch, drinks and prizes are included in the golf fee, WDPA said.

The Oct. 5 reception and dinner will be a unique experience. Rather than the traditional, formal dinner banquet, WDPA said it will be a throwing a big Packer tailgate party. Delicious food and plenty of beverages will be spread out throughout the building. The outside upper deck and lower patio, as well as The Pub bar and lower dining room, will all be used to avoid crowding.

The 2020 WDPA Presidents Award will be presented to this year’s recipient, Jeff Giffin. Televisions will be brought out so that attendees may continue the party by watching the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football.

The second day will begin with a breakfast and the WDPA annual meeting. Following that, the main educational program will commence. The lineup of presentations and guest speakers may be found at https://www.wdpa.net/dairy-symposium.

Every precaution is being taken to ensure a safe and healthy event, WDPA said. For the Oct. 6 seminars, seating will be spaced out, with 6 feet between each chair. Sleeping rooms will be fully sanitized prior to attendees’ arrival. There will be no self-serve food; all meals will be plated and served by staff. There will also be hand sanitizer and face masks for those who wish to use them.
