O’My Dairy Free Gelato, Richmond, Va., said it expanded its distribution across the United States and introduced a new dairy-free frozen dessert flavor: Strawberry. Cofounded by two food industry veterans with a shared commitment to taste, inclusivity and transparency, the company now offers seven flavors in its dairy-free gelato alternative line. The products can be found in 650 retail stores across the United States, and will be in more than 800 stores by the end of 2019.

The Strawberry flavor is made with only five ingredients, including organic strawberry puree and organic coconut cream. O’My said it will officially debut the new flavor at Natural Products Expo East 2019.

“We heard from consumers that gelato was even better than ice cream, and we agreed,” shared Monette, CEO and cofounder of O’My Dairy Free Gelato. “We believe everyone should get to celebrate moments big and small, including the millions of people with food intolerances, allergies and plant-based preferences.”

The O’My Dairy Free Gelato brand officially launched in grocery stores in 2018. The company said the pints have a suggested retail price of $6.99. Each flavor has nine or fewer ingredients — 70% or more of which are organic. All ingredients are thoughtfully sourced and include both Non-GMO Project Verified and Fairtrade Certified ingredients. Additionally, the recipes were crafted to be free from major allergens, including wheat/gluten, dairy, peanuts, tree nuts, eggs and soy. The result is a creamy dairy-free gelato alternative made from coconut cream and sweetened with cane sugar.
