International Dairy Queen Inc., (IDQ), Minneapolis, announced American Dairy Queen Corp.’s (DQ) new summer menu. The new offerings include indulgent ice cream sundae-inspired Cupfections and thick and decadent Cake Shakes, as well as six new and returning Blizzard flavors. IDQ said the cool treats are available through August at participating Dairy Queen locations while supplies last.

“We aim to serve up happy food, treats and experiences every time fans visit our restaurants,” said Maria Hokanson, executive vice president of marketing for American Dairy Queen Corp. “From cups to cones and creamy to crunchy, our new summer treat menu will take fans on a flavor adventure.”

IDQ said the summer menu features limited-time-only mini flights of Blizzard treats, available in the month of May. The new Blizzard varieties include Caramel Cannonball, which is made with caramel-coated truffles, toffee pieces and caramel topping; Oreo Cookie Jar, which features Oreo cookie pieces, chocolate chip cookie dough and fudge; and Brownie Dough, which is made with brownie dough pieces, chocolate chunks and cocoa fudge. The flavors join three returning varieties: S’mores, Cotton Candy and Summer Berry Cheesecake.

DQ is also introducing two flavors of Cupfections, which IDQ said are a twist on the typical sundae experience, with additional layers of baked goods and decadent toppings. The Brownie and Oreo Cupfection is soft-serve ice cream topped with a brownie, Oreo cookie pieces, rich chocolate sauce and marshmallow topping. The other variety is Summer Berry Cake: soft-serve layered with vanilla cake, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, choco chunks and whipped topping.

IDQ said DQ is also introducing Cake Shakes, which are vanilla layer cakes hand-blended with milk and soft-serve, and then garnished with more cake and toppings. They are available in two varieties: Chocolate and Strawberry.

Another offering is the Dreamsicle Dipped Cone, which is made using DQ soft-serve with a signature curl on top and a creamy orange- and vanilla-flavored crunchy coating.
