The frozen-yogurt chain The Country’s Best Yogurt (TCBY), Denver, said it plans to open 185 locations over the next 24 months. Key markets are Illinois, Boston, Detroit and Texas. TCBY sources milk from California through Scott’s Dairy, which also produces the yogurt.

 

Quick-service restaurant operator Dairy Queen, Minneapolis, has introduced a light smoothie product as part of a national roll-out of Orange Julius Premium Fruit Smoothies and Julius Originals to more than 4,000 Dairy Queen locations in the U.S. and Canada. The smoothies are made fresh to order with real fruit, blended with low-fat yogurt and no artificial flavors. A small light smoothie contains 170 calories or fewer per serving.

 

California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, Calif., is offering an industry-focused master’s degree program in Dairy Products Technology. Students will earn a Master of Professional Studies, which is an applied, project-based degree. The MPS degree is gaining popularity with universities across the country.
