Novasep opens office in India; honors for Tetra Pak; David Michael & Co. marks anniversary

The DFA of California (formerly the Dried Fruit Association) recognized Ready Roast Nut Co.’s Madera, Calif., facility as Plant of the Year

Naturex opened three new sales offices in Dallas, Atlanta and Chicago. The provider of specialty plant-based natural ingredients has its headquarters and 275,000-square-foot factory in South Hackensack, N.J.

Novasep opened Process Engineering Services Pct, Ltd., in Bangalore, India. The new office serves industries in India with functional and commodity food and feed ingredients, milk derivatives and bio-based chemicals.

Tetra Pak took home a 2014 WorldStar Award for its Tetra Brik Aseptic 1000 Edge carton package, used for milk, juice, nectars and noncarbonated beverages. A panel of 25 industry experts, members of the World Packaging Organization, praised the product for ease of handling, pouring and opening by consumers.

Flavor and ingredient manufacturer Frutarom USA Inc. made improvements to its New Jersey facility which resulted in the reduction of industrial waste. The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection honored Frutarom’s North Bergen, N.J., facility with an Environmental Stewardship award.

M.G. Newell, a sanitary-process-equipment distributor, is now a full-service Federal Manufacturing distributor. The company sells and supports Federal’s filling and capping systems for the dairy, food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries.

David Michael & Co. celebrated the 25th anniversary of its DM Choice flavor line. The savory flavors are used in product applications including, cheeses, dips, sauces and meats as well as prepared foods such as microwave and frozen foods.
