CoolBrands International Inc. — David Stein has been elected to serve as co-chairman and chief executive officer of the Canada-based frozen-desserts manufacturer, following the death of co-chairman and co-CEO Richard Smith.
Kraft Foods Inc. — The Northfield, Ill.-based company has elected Richard Lerner, M.D., to its board of directors.
Organic Valley Family of Farms — David Butterfield has joined the LaFarge, Wis.-based cooperative as regional sales manager for the upper Midwest.
B&H Labeling Systems — Bruce Andrade has been appointed vice president of operations for the Ceres, Calif.-based company.
Fogg Filler Co. — Alistair Pyers has joined the Holland, Mich.-based company as business development manager, based in Bangkok, Thailand.
Fort Dearborn Co. — Timothy Trahey has been appointed chief financial officer of the Niles, Ill.-based company.
Fristam Pumps USA — Mick Williams has joined the Middleton, Wis.-based company as purchasing manager.
Multivac Inc. — Mark Hammelrath has joined the Kansas City, Mo.-based company’s food division as market development manager, and Ben Eastman and Jason Green have been named regional sales managers, both promoted from within the company’s sales organization.
Separators Inc. — Ken Sucilla has joined the Indianapolis-based company’s field service department as senior systems analyst and Richard Schildwachter has joined the department as process engineer.
SPX Process Equipment — Fred Spataro has been appointed general manager of aftermarket services for the Delavan, Wis.-based company.
Wow Logistics Co. — Harold Schiferl, president and one of the founders of the Appleton, Wis.-based company, has retired. Tom Oswald, former chief financial officer, has been appointed president.
Virginia Dare Extract Co. — Anton Angelich has joined the Brooklyn, N.Y.-based company as group vice president of marketing.
100% Recycled Paperboard Alliance — Paul Schutes has been named executive director of the Washington-based trade group.
Dairy Council of California — Mike Newell, president of Crystal Cream & Butter Co., has been elected board chairman of the Sacramento-based organization. Joining the board are processor Jeff Foster, Foster Farms Dairy, Modesto, Calif.; producer Michael Macy, L-Holsteins, Hanford, Calif.; and processor Craig Fullmer, Safeway Inc., Walnut Creek, Calif.
SPI Polyols Inc. — Jerry Roland, 47, marketing director of the New Castle, Del.-based company, died March 3 of liver cancer. Roland worked his entire career in the food industry, holding positions at Kraft Foods, Coca-Cola, Pfizer/Cultor/Danisco and Omega Tech.
