    French, International Suppliers Meet at SIAL 2010

    September 2, 2010

    SIAL 2010 is the largest meeting place in the world for the food profession. It assembles food industry stakeholders, from manufacturing, mass retail, catering and foodservice to import-export. It also sets the standard for food innovation worldwide and is a powerful reference for purchasers seeking French and international suppliers and partners.

    SIAL 2010 will take place Oct. 17-21 October at the Parc des expositions Paris Nord Villepinte, and will feature a variety of exhibits, including:

    The Trends & Innovations Observatory is an exhibition of innovative food products and spotlights current consumer trends.

    Food Design gives pride of place to trend forecasting and to the creation of concepts by design students from ESAD in Reims.

    La Cuisine du SIAL, a special area for gastronomic creations, enables visitors to taste the latest cookery trends.

    Nutrition & Health Village provides talks on health and food prospects around the world.

    In-Store Services & Solutions is a special area dedicated to product promotion at the point of sale, presents the tools and applications of tomorrow together with exhibitors from this particular sector.

    Food & Health Trails, organized by Atlantic Santé, will lead visitors directly to stands where exhibitors display health products with specific claims.

    SIAL and Sustainability is an area that’s dedicated to sustainable development topics.

    Gourmet Special is an event with a selection of rare and original products from the show.

    La Cuisine du SIAL is expanding.

    In addition, there also will be a demonstration area, partner area, VIP lounge, la Librairie Gourmande bookshop and meetings with catering experts will be provided.

    Arrangements for attendees include extra shuttle buses, new restaurants, and more.

    SIAL features 5,500 exhibitors, 78% of whom are international and the top exhibitor and visitor country is France. SIAL 2010 is expected to bring in 148,000 visitors, including 58% from non-French countries. 66,500 visitors come from retail including, central purchasing groups, hard discounters, medium- and large-scale retail stores, retailers, wholesalers, trade and import-export. 20,700 visitors are from institutional and commercial catering such as purchasers, wholesalers, retailers and chefs
