The Milk Processor Education Program has appointed Julia Kadison as Chief Executive Officer. She held the position of Interim CEO/Vice President of Marketing for MilkPEP, following the resignation of Vivian Godfrey in November 2013.
The alliance will reduce operating costs and maximize returns for their farmer-members, the co-ops said.

Foremost Farms USA and Michigan Milk Producers Association announced today that the two cooperatives have formed a strategic alliance for the purpose of balancing and adding value to their members’ milk supplies in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio.
The goal is to have 80% of the milk supply covered within a year. So far, 68% of the supply is covered.

Organic processed products certified in the United States or Korea can now be labeled as organic in either country. A trade deal gives American organic farmers, processors and businessesgreater access to Korea’s growing market for organic products.
Hiland Dairy Foods Co., Springfield, Mo., was honored by Quality Chekd for excellence in marketing, while a sister company in Fort Smith, Ark., was cited for production. Umpqua Dairy Products Co., Roseburg, Ore., received Quality Chekd honors for plant performance.
