Drought in the United States, less favorable conditions in Europe, an uncertain El Niño and a decrease in New Zealand pay prices have increased supply challenges in the year ahead.
After 16 months of steady price declines, the global dairy markets are on the rise again. The world’s appetite for dairy products hasn’t abated, while a slowdown in milk production growth in the United States and Europe this summer has put a squeeze on the international market. Supplies are expected to be snug well into 2013, pointing to continued strong prices ahead.
It’s time to shed milk pricing regulations, outdated dairy standards of identity, government’s role as the ‘food police’ and manipulation of the milk supply through government policies.

Dairy Foods presented the Tom Camerlo Exporter of the Year award to Glanbia USA at the annual membership meeting of the U.S. Dairy Export Council in Washington, D.C.
The award is presented to the dairy co-op "in recognition for all it has done to support and promote the dairy industry throughout New York State, and across the nation."

Agri-Mark will receive the New York Dairy of Distinction 2012 'Business of Distinction' award at a special ceremony on Aug. 27 at the New York State Fair in Syracuse, NY.

Privately owned Brothers International Desserts Inc., Irvine, Calif., this week said it acquired the Organic Rice Divine line of frozen desserts from Good Karma Food Technologies Inc., Prairie du Sac, Wis.
PepsiCo marks the start of a state-of-the-art yogurt facility today that is expected to create more than 180 jobs in upstate New York.
