Mochidoki premium mochi ice cream expands retail footprint

Forty Amazon Fresh delivery regions to offer five of brand’s most popular flavors.

New York City-based Mochidoki announced that the premium mochi ice cream brand is expanding its retail footprint to include 40 Amazon Fresh delivery regions offering five of the brand’s most popular flavors: Vanilla Chip, Strawberry, Cake Batter, Vegan Mango and Vegan Passionfruit.

According to the company, mochi ice cream category saw a 60% increase in demand from 2021 to 2022, and Mochidoki more than doubled the amount of product sold from 2020-2022. With a loyal contingent of fans, returning buyers make up over 50% of Mochidoki’s customer base, it adds.

Claudio LoCascio, Mochidoki CEO and president, who has overseen the company’s national growth, says of the expansion: “As the demand for premium, high-quality desserts increases, we’re excited to bring Mochidoki to a larger audience and inspire imagination with every bite through our flavor lineup. Our goal has always been to bring mochi to as many people as possible, and through our partnership with Amazon, we’re able to do just that.”

The brand’s retail offerings are currently available in 8 flavors: Vanilla Chip, Matcha, Vegan Mango, Vegan Passion Fruit, Strawberry, Purple Sweet Potato, Black Sesame and Cake Batter). The mochi ice cream is available at select retailers including Citarella, Morton Williams and Westside Market, Central Market in Texas, and select H Mart locations for a suggested retail price of $7.49-$7.99 for a 4-count box.
