Hood, the dairy brand of Lynnfield, Mass.-based HP Hood LLC, said it teamed up with the well-known Boston based brand Wahlburgers to celebrate National Ice Cream Month and Ice Cream Sandwich Day this summer. Throughout National Ice Cream Month in July, customers who dine in and purchase a Wahlburgers kids’ meal will receive a free Hood Birthday Cake mini ice cream sandwich.
Wahlburgers is also creating a special milkshake made with Hood ice cream sandwiches that will be on the menu throughout July. To continue the celebration on National Ice Cream Sandwich Day on August 2, Hood said it is giving away free Hood ice cream sandwiches to the first 500 customers at each of the participating Wahlburgers locations — in Boston, Dorchester, Hingham and Lynnfield.
“Hood ice cream is delighted to join Wahlburgers and families this summer to celebrate the simple joys of ice cream,” said Lynne Bohan, group vice president, communications and government affairs for HP Hood LLC. “New Englanders have trusted Hood to deliver delicious, high-quality ice cream for generations, and now available with a Wahlburgers kids’ meal or milkshake, there’s no better way to celebrate summer than with a Hood ice cream sandwich!”
