Oklahoma school wins $5,000 in milk carton contest
Students at an Oklahoma elementary school built a model of the space shuttle with more than 41,000 empty gable-top milk cartons. For their effort and creativity, they won $5,000 in Evergreen Packaging’s Made By Milk Carton Construction Contest. The winning team from Mustang Elementary, Mustang, Okla., will use the prize to purchase gymnasium equipment.
Evergreen, Memphis, Tenn., is a maker of paperboard cartons. The contest encourages carton recycling and milk consumption among school-aged children. Evergreen received 101 entries that accounted for nearly 95,000 gable-top milk cartons.
