Organic Valley Lactose Free whole milkOrganic Valley, La Farge, Wis., added lactose-free whole milk and half & half to its lineup. These two new products join its fat-free, low-fat 1%, and reduced-fat 2% lactose-free milks.

The new lactose-free whole milk comes in a 64-ounce carton for a suggested retail price of $5.69. The lactose-free half & half is sold in a 32-ounce carton for a suggested retail price of $4.69. Both products are now available nationwide in natural food stores, food cooperatives and major grocery chains.

Organic Valley’s lactose-free milk starts as organic milk from pasture-raised cows. Then a natural enzyme, lactase, is added to convert lactose into glucose and galactose, simple sugars that are more easily digested. This does the work some digestive systems cannot. The company never uses antibiotics, synthetic hormones, toxic pesticides or GMO feed.
