Agropur buys Foremost Farms’ dry blending business
Agropur, Longueuil, Quebec, said in January it purchased Foremost Farms USA’s dry blending business. As a result of this transaction, Agropur now owns the following brands: Reddi Sponge, PZ 44, Econo Bake, Dairy Bake, Nutrimix and Baker’s Special. Main Street Ingredients, part of Agropur, will sell those brands.
According to Agropur CEO Robert Coallier, “The ingredients business is an important sector for the future growth of our organization in the U.S., and this investment, which is in keeping with Agropur’s strategies, will allow us to grow in the baking and blending industry.”
Main Street Ingredients provides food ingredients to the dairy, nutritional and food processing industries. Applications include ice cream, frozen desserts, cheese and nutritional beverages. Agropur processes close to 7 billion pounds of milk annually in its 25 plants across Canada and the United States.
