The SecurTEC tamper-evident lid from Stanpac was developed with two objectives in mind: mitigating liability and lost sales. With the SecurTEC, additional application processes are eliminated, improving line productivity, reducing labor costs and eliminating excessive waste. The SecurTEC solution is a simple snap-on application and no special equipment or additional floor space is required. Available for 1.75 and pint sizes.


  Axon, a division of Pro Mach, has created the EZ-Seal 200SL and the EZ-Seal 400SL.  These heat shrinkable sleeve labeling systems are capable of processing tamper-evident bands and full-body sleeves on the same system at rates that exceed 200 and 400 units per minute, respectively. Key features of the EZ-Seal 200SL and EZ-Seal 400SL include the flexibility to process both tamper evident bands and sleeve labels, Allen-Bradley controls, corrosion resistant construction, and stepper/servo film feeding and cutting systems.

Ball Corp. offers 8oz and 16oz PET dairy bottles for single-serve convenience and school lunch program applications. The unbreakable, 100% recyclable bottles feature resealable, tamper-evident closures. They allow consumers to see the product inside and offer more on-shelf appeal through attractive labels and improved graphics. The 8oz bottles are designed to stack 50 to a crate. When the bottles are stacked, the closure and base interlock to improve stability and prevent bottle damage.

Standard-Knapp introduces the Continuum Integrated Tray/Shrink System. The new tray/shrink system provides efficiency, flexibility, quick changeover and a low-maintenance design. The system is designed for both loose containers and multipacks in a variety of materials, including glass, PET, HDPE, metal and fiber cans, HiCone, shrink bundles, and paperboard overwrap. These products can be packed into both corrugated and chipboard trays for added flexibility. Operating at speeds up to 100 trays per minute, the system provides a smooth transition during the product/tray merge. Servo-driven, the Continuum offers zero-gap in-feed technology for balanced, jam-resistant packing lanes. 


Ampac Flexibles, a unit of Ampac Packaging LLC, introduces a new clear high-moisture barrier lidstock that can seal to trays, cups, etc., made from a wide variety of plastic materials. Flexi-Free 6985 is a high-moisture barrier lidstock without a foil layer that is suitable for universal application. Plastic tray/cup types include: high-impact polystyrene (HIPS), high-density polyethylene (HDPE), polypropylene (PP), amorphous polyethylene terephthalate (APET), polyethylene terephthalate glycol (PETG), polystyrene (PS), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polycarbonate (PC) and Barex. The two-ply, 2.5 mil lamination is made from polyvinylidene choride (PVDC)-coated polyester and a peelable sealant layer.

Alcoa Flexible Packaging has developed an easy-open tamper evident band that eliminates consumer frustration while preserving product tamper evidence. Alcoa’s Smart Peel tamper evident band utilizes an easy-lift tab feature that allows consumers to pop open the secure seal area with minimal effort. The film is stable during refrigerated distribution and is available in PVC, PETG and OPS shrink film. In addition, consumer goods manufacturers can take advantage of Alcoa’s multi-color flexo printing for brand enhancement.

IPEC recently introduced its 38mm ISO drop lock design screw-on cap to complement its existing snap-on and snap-screw closure portfolio. The company has experienced a successful launch of this four lead screw-on closure by achieving a virtually leak proof performance record. The closure utilizes a triple seal technology and can seal even on bottles that contain some of the industry’s standard flaws. The cap is designed for any size bottle from single-serve to gallon and works well on both HDPE and PET.

Scholle Packaging offers the Sentry SafeLock System, a flip-top filling/dispensing system designed to eliminate the need for a two-fitment bag, decreasing the overall package cost and providing value to the customer. The Sentry’s flip top enables users to insert hoses and dispensing taps without removing the cap from the spout. The Sentry features two areas of tamper evidency and closed system dispensing for additional food safety.
