Cold Stone Creamery, Scottsdale, Ariz., plans to be the top-selling ice cream brand in the country within five years, said CEO Doug Ducey, while speaking last month at a meeting of a local business group in Arizona.

The 14-year-old company operates a franchise chain of 1,000 nationwide. Ducey said the company will continue to expand its franchise network, and is working on a deal with Target stores. He said too that it will begin selling more packaged ice cream from the stores for take home customers.
