Cleveland, Ohio-based Pierre’s, which has been making lactose-free ice cream since 2012 starting with the classic Vanilla and Chocolate, added Cookies & Cream and Mint Chocolate Chip to its portfolio.

The reduction or elimination of lactose in ice cream and other frozen dairy desserts goes back to well before the simple declaration(s) of “low carb” in the early 2000s.
