This year's Real California Milk Excelerator, created in partnership with New York-based innovation consultancy VentureFuel Inc., brings a new, expansive focus to accelerate any dairy-based product — from traditional consumer food and beverage items to textiles, haircare and beyond.

The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, the New York Dairy Promotion Order (DPO) Advisory Board and New York-based VentureFuel announced this year’s MilkLaunch startup competition.

Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) announced the six startup companies that will participate in the cooperative’s 2022 CoLab Accelerator program.

The competition, created in 2019 by the California Milk Advisory Board (CMAB), Tracy, Calif., and New York-based VentureFuel to fuel innovation in new dairy product development, is a global search for the very best emerging products to bring to market using California milk and dairy ingredients, the CMAB said.

Dairy Farmers of America (DFA), Kansas City, Kan., said applications are now being accepted for the 2022 DFA CoLAB Accelerator program, which will begin in April and run through June 2022.

Sweet treats with functional benefits took home the four finalist spots this week in the Real California Milk Excelerator product innovation competition created by the Tracy, Calif.-based California Milk Advisory Board (CMAB) and VentureFuel, New York.
