Saputo Inc., Montreal, said it completed the acquisition of the Carolina Aseptic and Carolina Dairy businesses formerly operated by AmeriQual Group Holdings LLC.
The use of aseptic packaging by dairy processors is on the rise as operators seek newer solutions for enhancing food safety while reducing waste and operating expenses.
The aseptic packaging market is picking up steam. Sector sales for the dairy industry will reach $24.6 billion globally by 2024, up from $14 billion in 2017, projects Transparency Market Research, an Albany, N.Y.-based market intelligence firm.
The demand for shelf-stable and extended-shelf-life (ESL) products continues to grow. According to Transparency Market Research, the worldwide aseptic packaging market is expected to have a compound annual growth rate of 10.2% during the period of 2017-2024.
Anuga FoodTec 2012, which concluded last week in Cologne (Koeln), Germany, posted its best event result to date. Anuga FoodTec’s visitor numbers grew by around 25%, totaling more than 42,000 trade visitors from 131 countries.
