Baby, it’s cold outside, but thanks to an online flavor creation contest, certain ice cream flavors are heating up consumers’ palettes. Baskin-Robbins has announced the Top 10 finalists of its National Online Flavor Creation Contest. And now, the Canton, Mass.-based company calls on ice cream devotees across the country to vote for their favorite.

"For the second year in a row, the culinary team at Baskin-Robbins was impressed and amazed with the creative flavor submissions we received," says Stan Frankenthaler, Dunkin' Brands executive chef and vice president of innovation. "It's a challenge to narrow down the submissions to 10 finalists, but we are confident that ice cream lovers across the nation will have fun voting for the next great flavor to be featured in Baskin-Robbins dipping cabinet in 2012.”

The 10 finalists and their ice cream flavor creations are as follows:

    • Magic Bar, a seven-layer bar consisting of coconut ice cream, dark fudge, graham cracker and chocolate chips, by Leslie Pearson, Orange, Conn.
    • Lemon Icebox Pie, a tangy lemon ice cream with whipped cream swirls and honey-sweet graham cracker pieces, by Robert Ryan Reece, Bayonet Point, Fla.
    • Snap, Crackle and Caramel, consists of white chocolate mousse ice cream with chocolate rice crunchies and caramel sauce, by Christina Brumfield, Colorado Springs, Colo.
    • Carmel Batter Bash, a cake batter ice cream with Heath bar bits and chocolate chips, by Marcia Campbell, Lexington, Mass.
    • Chippity Chocolately Chew, a chocolate chip ice cream with a fudge ribbon and fudge brownie pieces, by Paula Brooks, Westford, Mass.
    • Cold Mine, chocolate ice cream with an Oreo icing ribbon, walnuts and fudge brownie pieces, by Judy Gewuerz, Fresh Meadows, N.Y.
    • Nutty Creamcheese Brownie, chocolate fudge ice cream with a cream cheese ribbon, walnuts and fudge brownie pieces, by Kelsey Lien, Santa Clarita, Calif.
    • She Devil Pie, strawberry ice cream with a cream cheese ribbon mixed with pie crust and strawberry pieces, by Kelebra Williams, Compton, Calif.
    • Chocolate Cookie Crumble, chocolate ice cream with an Oreo icing ribbon, chocolate chips and Oreo cookies, by Elissa Decarlo, Glenmoore, Pa.
    • Blueberry Bliss, white mousse ice cream with blueberries, almond pieces and chocolate flakes, by Claudia Gdowski, Dearborn Heights, Mich.

Each finalist wins free ice cream for a year. The grand prize winner will have his or her flavor added to the Baskin-Robbins ice cream library and it will be featured as the July 2012 Flavor of the Month. The grand prize winner will also receive a trip for two to Boston, including a three-night stay, a night at the theater, $1,000 in spending money and a trip to Baskin-Robbins’ headquarters to meet the Baskin-Robbins culinary team.
