The 2011 “Dean Foods Milkshake Recipe Contest and Sweepstakes” solicits original, nonalcoholic milkshake recipes in a Milkshake Blender sweeps (from June 1 to Aug. 15). Entry is online or by mail, and limited to residents of certain states. Judges score entries on taste, appeal and originality. Five weekly prizes will be awarded (five per week, 55 total); winners will receive a Hamilton Beach 52277 Classic Chrome 12-Speed Blender or a Hamilton Beach 54227 Stainless Steel Blender valued at $6.

The 10 highest-scoring recipes will be voted on in a separate Voter sweeps, running from Aug. 25 to Sept. 1. One grand prize winner will receive a $10,000 check, one first prize winner will receive a $3,000 check and one second prize winner will receive a $1,000 check. Entry is at

  • Jell-O shows a dozen flavors of its desserts and offers a 50-cent coupon toward any refrigerated Snacks SKU. The FSI directs shoppers to “like” the Jell-O Facebook page.
  • Breakstone’s Zesty Blends sour cream states “Taco Tuesday just got spicy. Kaboon.” and adds that it is “the sour cream you other food loves.” Coupon: $1 toward any Zesty Blends SKU.
