    Mr. Food says dairy is 'so good' in this week's FSIs

    Daisy, Kraft, Land O’Lakes and Sargento are among the brands featured with celebrity pitchman Mr. Food in a free-standing insert promoting June Dairy Month, a campaign by the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association.     FSI report for the week beginning June 5, 2011

    Daisy, Kraft, Land O’Lakes and Sargento are among the brands featured with celebrity pitchman Mr. Food in a free-standing insert promoting June Dairy Month, a campaign by the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association. Mr. Food states he shops “the refrigerated dairy aisles for great deals on fun, nutritious, tasty snacks and drinks.”
    Other dairy foods pictured in the FSI are Bailey’s coffee creamer, Yoplait Greek yogurt, Lactaid milk and Borden’s extra sharp Cheddar cheese.
    The National Park Family Adventure sweepstakes awards a grand prize trip for four to a national park, valued at $7,500. Entry is online or by mail from May 22 to July 30 at easyhomemeals.com.
    Coupons: $1 toward any two Dannon Activia 4-pack, 8-pack, 12-pack or tub SKUS
    $1 toward any 16-ounce Organic Valley half-and-half or soy creamer SKU
    $1 off any 8th Continent soymilk SKU

    In separate FSIs:
    • Kraft tells shoppers to “Do your dinner a flavor” by “spoon[ing] in perfectly seasoned creaminess” with its Cooking Crème. Coupon: $1 toward any Philadelphia Cooking Crème SKU
    • Sargento promotes its light string cheese and Colby-Jack snacks. Coupon: 75 cents toward any snacks SKU.
    • General Mills’ Yoplait directs shoppers to the frozen fruit section to finds its Yoplait Smoothie food with “frozen fruit & real yogurt pieces in every bag.” Shoppers blend the product with milk. Coupon: 75 cents toward one SKU


    In other dairy-related FSI activity:

    GFA Brands touts its Smart Balance fat-free milk with omega-3s and its buttery spread under the headline, “Here are two easy steps to a heart-healthier diet.” Coupons: $1.50 on any milk SKU, $1 on any two spread or sticks SKUs.
     
    LaLa states its bottled yogurt smoothies contain neither high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) nor artificial colors or flavors and that the food is low-fat and contains 25% of the recommended daily value of calcium. Coupon: buy one 8.1-ounce SKU, receive a second one free.
     
    Dannon suggests freezing its Dan-o-nino yogurt intended for children. It promotes the food’s lack of HFCS and artificial colors and flavors. Dannon claims the product is “power packed” with twice the calcium of “leading kids’ yogurts and vitamin D.” Coupon: $1 toward a 6- or 12-pack SKU.
    Dannon also offers its Danimals Coolision SKU as an alternative for “when they scream for ice cream.” The FSI also makes the claim of no HFCS, artificial colors or flavors. Coupon: $1 toward any SKU.
     
    Nestle’s iconic rabbit appears with Nesquik chocolate syrup and Edy’s vanilla ice cream. Coupons: $1 toward any syrup SKU and 48-ounce ice cream SKU; 50-cents toward any Nesquik SKU.
     
    Kraft’s Breakstone's makes the claim “our new cottage cheese can beat up your yogurt.” Coupons: $1 toward any 4-pack SKU; 75 cents toward any three doubles SKUs.
     
    Sutter Home Winery encourages shoppers to “build a better burger” with cheese bearing the Real California Milk or Cheese seal, and offers a 55-cent coupon as an incentive. The Build a Better Burger sweepstakes awards a $100,000 grand prize to the best beef burger and $15,000 to the best alternative burger; the sandwiches may or may not include cheese. A $2,500 prize will be issued as the People’s Choice Award in each category. Entry is online or by mail.
     
    Abbott Nutrition promotes its Ensure protein shakes, made with milk protein concentrate. Coupons: $1 toward one multipack SKU; $2 toward any 4-pack SKU.
