Cheddar Cheese prices received for US 40 pound blocks averaged $1.76 per pound for the week ending October 1, 2011, a decrease of 4.2 cents from the previous week. Butter prices also dropped, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS), Agricultural Statistics Board, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
