Dah!, Boston, said it introduced Dah! brand dahi, a staple yogurt used for cooking that is found in many Indian households. The new product rolled out at all Wegmans Food Markets on Sept. 15, 2020. 

Dahi is a traditional yogurt developed in India that is made with whole or low-fat milk through a slow culturing process. This yogurt is organic, low in calories, high in probiotics and filled with protein. Dahi’s texture is smooth and creamy, with a slightly sweet flavor profile, and can be enjoyed by itself or used in cooking. This yogurt is very versatile and is typically used to make a sweet Lassi or a savory curry, Dah! said.

“We are in the business of providing authentic food experiences. It was important that the taste, texture and health benefits of our dahi matched those of a traditional Indian dahi,” said JD Sethi, co-founder of Dah!. “We were able to import Dahi cultures from India and stayed away from ‘tricks of the trade’ like gums, thickeners and stabilizers to create a healthful dahi with a naturally rounded and creamy taste and a silken texture.”

Dah! Dahi is available in whole-milk and low-fat varieties in a 32-ounce tub. It has a suggested retail price $5.49, Dah! said.
